Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is a central power generating organisation which operates in the Damodar River area of West Bengal and Jharkhand states of India to handle the Damodar Valley Project, the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India. Indian Astrophysicist Meghnad Saha, the former chief architect of river planning in India, prepablue the original plan for the Damodar Valley Project.

Position :- Junior Engineer Gr.II

Salary :- Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400/- pm

Job Location :- Kolkata

Qualification :-

JE Gr.II (Mech):

• 3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in Mechanical Engineering from any recognized College/ Institutes approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not less than 65% marks (Gen/ OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBDs Candidates) taking average of all the Semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institutes / University .

JE Gr.II(Elec):

• 3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering from any recognized College/ Institutes approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not less than 65% marks (Gen/OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates) taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institute / University

JE Gr.II (C&l)L

•  3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in Electronics & Telecommunications/ Instrumentation Engineering from any recognized College/ Institutes approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not than 65% marks (General/ OBC (NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates) taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institutes / University.

JE Gr.II (CiviI):

• 3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engg/ Technology in Civil Engg from any recognized College/ Institutes approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not than 65% marks (Gen/ OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBDs Candidates) taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institutes / University.

JE Gr.II (Comm):

• 3 (three) years full time Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in Electronics & Telecommunications/ Telecommunication Engineering/ Electronics & Communication Engineering from any recognised College/ Institute approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority with not than 65% marks (General/ OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates) taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester / year by the Institutes / University .

Mine Surveyor:

• Matriculation with not less than 65% marks (General/ OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates) and Surveyor’s certificate of competency issued by DGMS . OR
• Diploma in Mining/Mining Surveying/Mining & Mine Surveying with not less than 65% marks (General/ OBC(NCL)/EWS Candidates) / 60% marks (SC/ST/PwBD Candidates) from any recognised College/ Institutes approved by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority and Surveyors’ certificate of competency issued by DGMS.

Age Limit (As on 04 July 2024) :-

• JE Gr.II (Mech) – Minimum – 18 years and upper age limit – 28 Years
• JE Gr.II(Elec) – Minimum – 18 years and upper age limit – 28 Years
• JE Gr.II (C&) – Minimum – 18 years and upper age limit – 28 Years
• JE Gr.II (Civil) – Minimum – 18 years and upper age limit – 28 Years
• JE Gr.II (Comm) – Minimum – 18 years and upper age limit – 28 Years
• Mine Surveyor – Minimum -18 years and upper age limit -30 Years

Relaxation of Upper age limit:

• For SC/ ST Candidates: 5 years
• For OBC Candidates: 3 years
• For PWBD (Gen/ EWS) Candidates: 10 years
• For PWBD (SC/ ST) Candidates: 15 years
• For PwBD (OBC) Candidates: 13 years

Selection Process :-

• Eligible candidates will have to undergo a Computer Based Test.
• Based on the Merit and vacancy requirement, the list of successful candidates for documents verification.

Application Fees :-

• General/OBC(NCL)/EWS categories: Rs 300/-
• SC/ST/PWBD/Ex-SM categories & DVC Departmental Candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
